Account Manager 


As account manager with a business account focus, you will work with Edge Insurance clients and alongside members of our sales team. Excellent communication with the Edge team as well as with the client is a must. From quoting and issuing new business to policy changes and renewals, account managers are a vital part of an agency team. 

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Earning Potential:  $50,000- $75,000 (for full-time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to commercial lines accounts, coordinating with others when necessary to achieve optimal results
  • Work with producers and clients to understand the operations of a client as well as review the insurance policies to ensure proper protection has been included or offered
  • Provide world-class service and timely responses to requests for information & documents for clients
  • Maintain excellent communication with underwriters and producers. Properly use our AMS360 admin platform. Prepare new applications, provide quotes, send binders, certificates and claim notifications as well as handle cancellations, audits, endorsements, etc…
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all activities related to clients and prospects, especially documenting coverage reductions or refusals.
  • Effectively utilize technology, following workflow and standards established by agency.
  • Stay abreast of the commercial lines marketplace including attendance at meetings and seminars, and communicate with clients directly or through producers regarding new product offerings.
  • Assist other Commercial Lines department staff where possible when urgent need arises or when co-workers are out of the office.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, company representatives and other team members to ensure optimal results in retention and satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1+ year commercial lines experience
  • Able to confidently and professionally assess and identify insurance exposures and match those with solutions using our markets and available products and resources
  • Able to maintain robust book of business and incorporate new clients, products, tasks and workflows as they develop
  • Able to successfully interact and/or negotiate with all personality types
  • Must be detail-focused and be able to demonstrate insurance knowledge, organization, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word or Google Docs and Mircosoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Business Insurance Sales


Insurance sales to businesses is an interesting career path because it’s not really “sales”. While you must be the type of person that can open new doors and introduce yourself to strangers, it’s not like you’re really selling anything at all because every business has to have insurance. You’re simply replacing the other agent with you and your insurance quote. Selling commercial insurance is a relationship business, not a hard-sell business, so if you’re great at creating relationships and taking care of people, we should talk. 

Employment Structure:  Full-time, Salary plus commission

Earning Potential:   Year 1:  $70,000  Year 5: $175,000  Year 10: $300,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for new business based on your local networks, connections, and communities via calls, emails, walk-ins and general networking.  
  • Conduct sales, service, and solicitation of all forms of insurance business
  • Maintain excellent communication with account manager(s), underwriters and other producers.
  • Properly use our AMS360 admin platform. Prepare new applications, create proposals and provide quotes
  • Maximize growth and client retention through superior customer service
  • Develop accounts and cross-sell available products and services as well as to continue to generate and pursue new client opportunities
  • Create proposals and present solutions at prospect meetings
  • Bringing new business prospects to closure
  • Retaining clients by maintaining solid business-to-business relationships

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be an independent self-starter who is able to sell and develop strong business-to-business relationships
  • Sales experience desired however not required if past experiences have developed excellent communication ability, poise and passion  
  • Commercial insurance experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must pass Missouri insurance licensing within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines
  • Good listening skills and ability to determine clients’ needs efficiently
